Harris Corrections has been selected by the Kern County Sheriff’s Office to implement a modern jail management system, enhancing efficiency and safety.

Harris Corrections (HCOR) is proud to announce that the Kern County Sheriff’s Office in California has selected HCOR’s Jail Management System to support the operations of its Detention Bureau. This important project will modernize Kern County’s offender management processes and enhance efficiency, accuracy, and safety across its correctional facilities.

The collaboration began through a partnership with National Public Safety Group (NPSG), which provided Needs Assessment, Selection, and Procurement Services to help the Sheriff’s Office identify the best solution for its long-term goals. Following that process, Kern County selected Harris Corrections as the preferred software provider.

Supporting a Large and Complex Operation: Kern County Sheriff

Kern County’s Detention Bureau plays a critical role in managing a significant volume of activity each year:

  • Corrections Users: 700

  • Inmate Population: 1,700

  • Arrests Received Annually: Approximately 30,000

  • County Population: 922,529

Implementing a unified, cloud-based offender management system will help Kern County improve communication, reduce administrative burden, and ensure greater data consistency throughout its justice system.

A Partnership Built on Trust and Collaboration

Harris Corrections extends sincere appreciation to Victor M., Technology Services Manager, Chief Deputy Cindy Cisneros, and the dedicated IT and Correctional Teams at Kern County. Their leadership and collaboration have been instrumental in guiding the project through its selection and planning phases.

With Project Management Services now underway, we are focused on ensuring a smooth and successful implementation.

“We’re honored to partner with Kern County and provide a proven solution that will support their mission of operating safe, efficient, and transparent correctional facilities. Our team is committed to helping their staff use technology that simplifies daily operations while maintaining the highest standards of security and accountability.”
